Business Development and Sales - Open for applications until 14th October

The primary purpose of this exciting new role is to develop and grow the commercial activities of Plexus Innovation, principally focusing on attracting and growing new revenue streams within water services and other new target marketplaces using key insight selling techniques.

 

This right candidate for this role will be ‘hands on’ in taking a lead in the generation of sales, working closely with the Managing Director to ensure that sales generation is aligned with technology capability and profitability is maximised.

 

The role is UK-based and can be primarily either home or head office based.

 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Lead and develop rapid sales growth within the water services sector business, which requires complex and challenging value selling solutions via multi-level relationship building.

  • To manage the sales process, from lead generation through to close.

  • To work with marketing colleagues to ensure the marketing plan is closely aligned to support the sales strategy and plan.

  • Ensure the business maximises its use of CRM tools in order to support the sales process.

  • Attend relevant industry events and lead our commercial presence, networking, making new contacts and identifying emerging opportunities.

  • Maintain excellent relationships with clients through superior customer service.

  • Create and present regular performance reports for directors.

  • Ensure sales generate revenue and profitability contribution in line with the business objectives.

  • Assesses risks and makes recommendations based on a thorough analysis of all factors involved in a business proposition or situation to deliver a defined outcome.

  • Contribute to the generation of and ensure relevance of new technology development plans.

 

Key Tasks

  • Create a regular sales pipeline within the water services and all new market sectors.

  • Seek to unlock education, healthcare, and hospitality sector growth.

  • Identify suitable other sector and/or functionality sales lead opportunities for GUARDIAN.

  • Maintain and seek to grow current revenue and profitability contribution.

  • Create reporting model to track, monitor and present sales progress and opportunity.

  • Assess risks and make recommendations based on a thorough analysis of all factors involved in a business proposition or opportunity to deliver a defined outcome.

  • Ensure operation of best practice for managing contract issues and handling daily issues and tasks.

  • Proactive generation of new business, primarily through direct discussions and face to face meetings, ensuring in line with technology capability.

  • Revisit existing customer base with a view on selling value add products.

 

Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Exceptional B2B sales negotiation and communication skills.

  • Strong commercial acumen, with successful track record of new business and account management with previous proven experience of senior level business development.

  • Excellent customer development and relationship skills with the maturity and accountability that this high-profile role demands.

  • Exceptional customer service skills and demonstrable successful experience of working in compliance, facilities, engineering or related sectors with value-based/efficiency solution sales experience desirable.

  • Natural networker, able to develop robust, multi-level relationships quickly.

  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to multitask.

  • Positive attitude and capable of working under pressure.

  • A passion for IoT, digital services and technology.

  • Maintains a high degree of industry and product knowledge with the ability to align Plexus Innovation technology capability with the needs of the customer.

  • Full and effective use of CRM to manage sales and marketing activities. Previous experience of working with HubSpot is desirable.

  • High level of computer proficiency with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Highly organised team player, combining good attention to detail and hands-on approach.

  • Self-motivated and driven.

  • A full UK driving license.
